Your First Visit to Our Raton Practice

New patients often remark how “homey” our office is. That’s good, because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a comfortable surrounding.

During your exam we explain what we found and how we may be able to help you.
Make Yourself at Home

During your first visit as a patient to Cunico Chiropractic Life Center you will complete your admitting paperwork if you have not done so.  You will then watch a short video introducing you to the Pro Adjuster. The Pro Adjuster is a light force computerized adjusting instrument used in conjunction with traditional hand spinal manipulation.

Once you have watched this video you will then go to our examination room where you will speak with Dr. Cunico regarding your ailments, and problem area(s). During this consultation, Dr. Cunico learns what he must know about your health and present condition His ethical standard requires that he treat only those patients he sincerely believes he can help, otherwise he'll refer you to the proper specialist.

Should Dr. Cunico determine that you are a candidate to be seen in our office he will do a computerized examination as well as hands on and visual examination. From this exam he will be able to determine what X-Rays will be necessary in order to treat you properly. X-Rays taken are then developed, and you will be explained what his findings are.

After this evaluation, Dr. Cunico will recommend a course of treatment designed especially for you, based on your individual needs. This may include chiropractic manipulation to restore joint mobility, and/or therapy to reduce inflammation and to help muscular injuries such as strains and sprains and exercise to maintain a good state of health.

X-rays are taken to help determine the cause of your problem

You will then be escorted to an adjusting room where the doctor will review your X-Rays as he is adjusting you. He may or may not employ various physiotherapy methods as well to help your tendons, ligaments, or muscles relax.

Normally our initial visit in our office runs close to one hour, and we normally see our new patients first thing in the morning or first thing in the afternoon, however we are always willing to work with your schedule.

During your first visit, please bring any admitting paperwork that you printed from our website and filled out along with any insurance card(s) you may have, as well as some form of payment.

Upon conclusion of your initial visit, you will schedule for your next visit with the front desk staff.
