Introducing Raton Chiropractor Dr. William E. Cunico

Dr. William E. Cunico

"I am a second generation chiropractor, and received my first adjustment at the age of 10. My father was given the polio vaccine, and actually contracted the polio virus. He began receiving adjustments at the age of 16, and it helped him to be able to pursue a career in chiropractic. I have seen first hand as a patient and as a doctor that chiropractic works, no doubt about it."

"I chose to pursue a career in chiropractic based on the experiences I had as a patient, I felt this desire to help people through natural means, and the concept of helping the body to heal itself of many different ailments was very appealing to me. My father was a very big inspiration to me. I watched as he helped patients who thought they couldn't be fixed and it was the end of the road for them. It was very inspiring."

After completing his Pre Chiropractic study at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During his four years at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinic. After graduating in 1972 he returned to the Northeastern New Mexico area to establish Cunico Chiropractic Life Center, and has been treating patients with wonderful results ever since.

“We love skeptics,” smiles Dr. Cunico. “I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I received my first chiropractic adjustment. So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to over communicate. Patients appreciate that.”

Dr. Cunico is married to Kathy who supported Dr Cunico on his journey through Chiropractic school, and has helped to run the practice. They have two daughters, Chrissy who is now a practicing chiropractor in Phoenix, AZ, and Lisa. Dr. Bills' second child Lisa was born at home and neither daughter has ever been vaccinated or received an antibiotic, nor have their four grandchildren. (If that sounds interesting, be sure to ask Dr. Cunico to explain!)
